Something mentioned in an earlier blog...
here's a post-war Lunigiana cook-top, but the device has been around for ages. This photo was taken inside another house in Codiponte we considered buying. We loved the house as is... a gem... but, sadly, there were two problems for us... too closely encircled by neighbors and no garden... though the space for airing the cow would make an adorable patio... with NO PRIVACY!!!
Anyway, I love the checker-board red & white curtain. A nice homey touch. The poured cement tiles of the cook-top with little pieces of marble... used rather than thrown away... makes a lot of Italians gag. I think the whole insieme is very elegant & functional. I don't gag. Gads.
